Purple Heart Homes is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality housing solutions to service-connected disabled veterans. These solutions could be anything from adapting a home for wheelchair accessibility, to building an entirely new home.
In Manchester, Purple Heart Homes is in the process of renovating a house for Staff Sgt. Sandra Lee. Lee served in the United States Army in Iraq for eight years, and was wounded by four blasts from improvised explosive devices.
To honor Lee and support Purple Heart Homes’ mission, 24/7 Harmony Home Care hosted Brad Davis and Mary Jones of WDRC’s “The Talk of Connecticut” at the event. Both have been tireless advocates of Purple Heart Home’s efforts to provide a new home for Lee, and have helped raise funds for the project.
Speaking on behalf of the staff of 24/7 Harmony Homes, Asumadu announced that they will be donating a washing machine and dryer for Lee’s new home.
